Attachment shows in message header, but not on printed copy

When viewing a sent message, the attachments are listed in the e-mail message
header next to "Attachments". However, when the message is printed,
"Attachments" (together with the list of documents) are not displayed. How
do I change the setting to include this in the printed copy?

I am having the same issue as CJH. I have Outlook 2003. What do I need to
do/what settings do I need to set?

On my copy of Outlook 2003, the list of attachments appears no matter what
format the message uses. However, try changing the message to HTML format
and seeing if that makes a difference.

So, if you open the message and click the Format menu, HTML is checked?

Yes, there is a check mark next to HTML. Also, interestingly enough, it
does not allow me
to change it to another format to print it.

Click Edit>Edit Message first. Then you can change the format.

I don't need or want to change the format. It is already in HTML format.
I simply want the
attachments to show in the header when I print the email.

This is a diagnostic session, remember? I want you to see if the problem
exists in non-HTML format messages. If you have, say, a Plain Text message
with attachments, does that work? If you don't have one, as I suggest, try
changing an HTML message with an attachment to Plain Text and see if that
works. As I said, Outlook 2003 should always include the attachment names
in the printed message, either in line, at the end, or on an "Attachment"
header line.

Ok, I understand. I edited one of the emails, changed it to Plain Text
format, and printed it. The attachment showed as an icon above the message
text in printed form. Edited again, back to HTML format, and no attachment
shows in the message header or body of the message.

Do you see it anywhere if you open the message, then click File>Print
Preview? Do you have multiple printers and, if so, if you select a
different printer does it change anything?

Ok, I understand. I edited one of the emails, changed it to Plain Text
format, and printed it. The attachment showed as an icon above the message
text in printed form. Edited again, back to HTML format, and no attachment
shows in the message header or body of the message.

This is an update - apparently there were some Microsoft updates that needed
to be installed on the computer. I decided to take that step after reading a
couple other discussion threads about attachments not showing up in the
header when printed.

I am happy to report that after installing all available updates, the
attachment line is now showing up in the email headers when I print them.
