Printing e-mail showing list of attachments sent

My assistant desparately needs to print e-mails we send as proof of sending
same WITH THE ATTACHMENTS SENT listed, too. She is using Outlook 2000. What
setting or change can we make so that the attachment names will be printed on
the e-mail?

Hi WVAngel,
you have to use the Plain text or Text format to print out your attachments.

Thanks for replying, Andreas, but I don't want to print the attachments. I
just want the printout of the e-mail to LIST the attachments that I did send
as proof of what attachments were sent.

Andreas is correct. It is kinda funny I just had this question earlier this
morning here at work. The only caveat with changing your email format to
plain or rich text is that you will loose the tracking tab on sent messages.
As long as that isn't a problem for your assistant then this should resolve
the issue. Cheers.

If you go into the Tool menu, choose Options. Go to the mail format tab and
there will be a drop down arrow for
"Compose message in this format". Chances are it is set to HTML at the
moment, but change it to rich text and then you will be able to use the print
preview function and print the emails with the attachments listed. Cheers.

The answer still holds. You have to change the format of the message to
Plain Text and then the list of attachments should print.

Thank You as well, I have been battling with this for days. My only other
problem is that now it is printing a picture of the attachment. As well,
anything that came in, or went out prior to my changing that setting still
does not show the attachment. Anything I can do here?

If you choose Plain Text, the names of the attachments will be printed. It
doesn't change already-received mail, but you can do that on an individual
basis. Open the message and change its format.

Brian,
This is so frustrating, I have changed the setting in my Tools, Options
setting yesterday - but I am still receiving emails in HTML, when I am in
that email it does not allow me to change the format - this option is greyed
out. Do I need an update or a fix or somthing to make it not so frustrating
or am I just missing something?

thanks for your help.

Open the message, click Edit>Edit Message and you should be able to change
whatever you want.

Wish I would of seen your problem before, all, all of you have to do is
download "Service Pack 1," and you will NOT have to SWITCH your email format,
it will print both HMTL as well as PLAINT TEXT or RICH FORMAT, and show all
attachments.

There is an easier way if you are using Outlook 2003, without having to
change your format ever....

Thanks, Brian -- I didn't understand that before. I've tried printing
e-mails I sent in the past in HTML and I can't change the ones previously
sent to Plain Text (the choice doesn't show up highlighted so I can choose
it), so I guess when I send an e-mail and I know I'm going to want to print
the e-mail with proof of the attachment, I'll just have to write it in plain
text first. If I'm not correct, please let me know. Thanks again!!

Download Service Pack 1 for OUtlook 2003. Any attachments will then be
listed on your printouts.
