Printing Directory Listings using XP

I am trying to print out a listing of what is in certain directories. I have tried copy/paste put this only opens each file of the list what am I doing wrong? Is Dos still on this OS?
 
Yes, DOS (the Command Prompt) is still in Windows XP; you can use the DIR
command and redirect its output to a text file that you can print from
Notepad. See this article:

If you'd like something a little more integrated with Explorer, there are
some third party utilities such as ExpPrint http://www.jddesign.co.uk/.
