Printing dialog (Multiple pages) slow

I have a PC that has a slow Printing dialog box when printing multiple
pages. For example, the user will try to print 3 pages and then the
Printing dialog box comes up and counts the pages up to three very slowly.
It used to flip through this dialog box very quickly. I checked the spool
settings and they are normal (Spool print jobs and Start printing
immediately). What could be causing this?

Does it make any difference if you pick a different printer?
Is this a local printer? Have you updated the driver?

Yes I tried all the printers and they are local printers. I tried
recreating a new printer with a new driver. It appears to be the results of
the marioforever.exe trojan. The trojan has been removed however the
printing is still slow.

Then the computer is still not clean and/or the trojan damaged system files.

1. Be sure the computer is clean:

2. If the machine is really clean and the problem persists, try running the
System File Checker:
Start>Run>sfc /scannow [OK]

3. If that doesn't work, then either clean-install Windows or apply your
corporate workstation image.

Thanks. I forgot about SFC. I already did a Windows Repair from the
installation CD and that solved the problem. Unfortuanately, I also had to
do all the updates all over again. Oh wel...
