Printing bold fonts

We print medical reports from a web based application,
where abnormal data appears in a bold red font.

Using 4,5 and 6P HP laser printers, some printers fonts
print bold, while others print a pale grey scale.

The grey scale is hard to read and impossible to fax.

I am trying to find what controls this print feature to
enable all bold fonts to print dark (and bold)

Look at the Font type and size of the correct printed items.

Make sure that the others that are printed in gray are the same type for
size.
Or try other types or sizes to match your current fonts in your computer or
printer properties.
