Bold type won't print in Word

J

J.P.

I have typed a document in Word and selected some of it to be bold. This
appears correctly on the screen but when printed the bold type appears as
normal type, not bold.
I am using the 'automatic' font colour and the only way I can get the ink to
appear bold is to use a coloured ink.

Does anyone know why this is please?

Some fonts don't include a bold variant. Although Word may synthesize a bold
appearance on screen, the print output will reflect the available fonts. You
may be able to get around this by changing a setting in your printer
Properties to download the fonts as soft fonts, bitmaps, etc.
