Depends on the make and model of printer. If it's an Epson pointer, the
Status Monitor is downloaded and installed separately from the drivers. If
it's a very old and discontinued printer, then that feature may not be
available in XP.
But since you do not tell us what printer you have and there are hundreds
of different models, it's impossible to go further at present.
