Printer that does NOT exist appears during Add Printer Wizard

Our network has an HP DesignJet 500 connected to the server. When a client
computer runs the Add Printer Wizard and locates it there are two. The name
of the first one is "HP DesignJet 500" and the second is "HP DesignJet500" I
had to reinstall the driver and change the share name and I do not know why.
I also have tried to get rid of the ghost printer with no luck.

Naturally, when our people connect to this device, they always choose the
wrong one because the ghost is listed first in the wizard.

Thanks in advance for your help.

check the registry for this ghost share.

Specifically
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\shares
