Printer shares require username and password?

I am having a problem with a simple XP pro (SP2)system (server) when I set
the printer to share over the network on the client machine I can see the
server but the printer share does not show up! when I try to add a network
printer. If i type in the path to the printer ie:\\server\lexmarkE the client
computer replies with a logon asking the username and password. There is no
logon username or password on the server or the client?? Baffeled !!! any
ideas??

If you create the same username and password on both computers, that should
work.

Access issues"computername is not accessible. No permission to access the
resources" ... Message: "....is not accessible. You may not have permission
to use this network ...

Thanks for that info but I would like to have a wide open share with no
username or password issues, is there a fix for that???
