printer share problem

hi guys

i am frustrated on the this problom. here is goes
the OS of my laptop is vista, but my office mate are using xp.
so i got problem on sharing a printer from my mate.

details:
printer: hp laserjet 1020
my os: vista sp1
host os: xp

any suggestion shall be apprecited.

XP or Vista makes no difference to the printer options - as long as it is on
your list then you can use it. You "don't" share a printer you send data to
it. As long as the printer (or printer server) is supported by your
operating system then you can use.

The problem you may have is that if your print server is on XP and you are
sending to ith from XP (or the other way round). I assume you are using a
server and not sending to a local printer as you use the word "Share".
