Connection problems for shared printer

K

Kwajongen

Hi,

First of all, the system configuration:

1 desktop wired with OS: WXP Home Edition
1 laptop wireless with OS: Vista Home Premium
1 printer Lexmark X1170 linked via USB to the desktop

Scope: Use the printer with my laptop

The computers are in a network and can see each other, both by ping
and name.
I have installed the Vista driver for the printer on the laptop.
When I try to print the test page from the laptop, after 30 sec. I get
a message saying: There are connection problems to your printer.

Any idea how to solve this?

Thank you
Alex

Many Vista printer issues are solved by installing the printer as a Local Printer. Or this link,
