printer problems

I recently changed to Windows XP, and my 1992 model
printer, an HP LaserJet IIP plus, will not work now. The
HP Help desk says that Windows XP will not support the
older model printers, and there is nothing they can do,
it is a Microsoft problem. Is that true? I find it hard
to believe that there is not some kind of software to
allow my printer to work on XP.

If it's not working, chances are your drivers are corrupt. Unisntall the
printer as per
http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article One.htm

Since the drivers are on the XP CD, after the reboot use the Add Printer
Wizard to install. It should work just fine.
