If you haven't used the printer in a few months, the chances are the print
cartridge(s) have dried out. You may try removing the cartridge(s) and
cleaning the print head with some alcohol. I have used a small lid with a
paper towel folded up in in. Soak the paper towel and sit the cartridge on
it. Leave it for 10 to 20 minutes. When you remove the cartridge(s) wipe the
print head off. Do Not mess with the contact points on the cartridge. If
there is ink present on them wipe it off with the alcohol, very lightly.
Then wipe off the contacts on the printer also very lightly.
After allowing the print cartridge(s) to sit for a few minutes on a dry
paper towel., install. Run a printhead cleanup to see if this worked.
But if they have set for to long, you might as well replace the print
cartridge(s). Yes I know that is cost is high to replace. I have been using
the same black and color for my HP Printer for almost a year now. I just
refill, plus I have found a way to reset the ink level counter for my model
of printer.
