Printer pauses then resumes

We are printing to a Canon 3300 and the printer prints
about 10 jobs and then pauses for a few minutes and then
prints the next 10. We can see the print jobs in the
print queue waiting to be processed. We are printing
several thousand 1 page documents so needless to say this
is taking a while. I have seen the Microsoft suggested
fixes for lpr, but when I look at the PC those registry
keys don't exist. Also when I look at the port, it is
configured as a standard TCP\IP port and a protocol of Raw.

Any suggestions on what to look at next? Any help is
appreciated.
