Many people have recently requested that they would like to print
information from my web pages. I have FrontPage 2000. Where can I get some
advice on how to structure some of my pages to be Printer Friendly without
destroying the effect of the larger size on line which has been so
successful for me.
I am beginning to redo pages where the size of the photos does not
matter so they can get smaller.
I am also redoing some pages on which I don't think it is disruptive to
have thumbnails.
I have seen printer friendly buttons on other web sites. Are these just
duplicate web pages that will print the page completely in portrait setup or
is there more to it.
Thank you for reading my message. Hope you have some advice. Bob

The problem with your "larger size" web pages is that they may be too
wide and/or too long to print on A4 size paper. I use alternative
printer friendly PDF files extensively throughout my website and the
advantage is that they replicate my original word-processed documents.
Most users have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in and web
optimised PDF files can be downloaded quickly. To produce PDF files
you need PDF creation software and the most well known and probably
most expensive version is Adobe PDF. There are considerably cheaper
alternatives and you can even find a free version at
http://www.pdf995.com/ I use Jaws PDF at www.jawspdf.com/ which
doesn't have the "bells & whistles" of Adobe, but works well for my
needs and is considerably cheaper. Since you indicate your pages
contain photographs you need to check that your chosen PDF software is
capable of producing good quality images.
