after a hard drive crash and new drive installed, printer prints a few lines,
spits out paper, prints a few more lines, spits out that page, etc, etc,
until the entire document is finished and many pages have been wasted.

i've:
clean uninstall/reinstall of epson
updated drivers
checked cables
clean uninstall/install different printer (canon)
updated drivers
cleaned out device manager
no other printers installed

any suggestions would be appreciated

In device mgr.,expand the tree for the device,R.click on it,select
uninstall,close-out,don't restart,then go to add/remove in xp,uninstall,
R.click C: drive locate the folder for it,R.click on it,delete it,if it
lets you
otherwise after next restart delete it,go to run, type:%Temp% In the
new window,edit,select all,delete all,close-out,empty recycle-bin,shut-down
computer.On restart,desktop,try a new install.You can/should also open event
viewer see what took place when trying to print.

I've tried all of these suggestions, but the printer is still acting the
same. I did notice that when I pull up the spooler queue, the document
selected for printing shows up as 2 or more documents in the queue. Each of
the "mini-documents" only contains a few lines from the full document. When
it's done printing the first mini-document, it ejects the page and begins
printing the next mini-document, which is the next few lines from the
original full document. And so on until it is complete.
