printer default with roaming profiles

i work for a school district and i can't seem to get the
printer default to stick on the computers like i want them
to. Example: i can log in as a user, set the default
printer, log out, log back in as the same user and the
printer has changed to a different printer.

i don't know what is causing this...can anyone suggest
anything that might work...

I too work in a school. In order to set up printers I run
a login script which connects to different printers
depending upon the computer name (start with room number).

Check out the script centre on TechNet for examples of how
to do this. I've found the first printer you map becomes
the default but you can specify with a command.
