Printer compatibilty issue, need help!

My grandmother just bought a Canon MF5700 series printer, which isn't
compatible with Windows Vista. It does work on her other computer using
Windows XP. I've already checked the Canon website and they have to support
for this printer for Windows Vista. Is it possible to switch one of the
programs/driver for the printer to use Windows XP (i don't have a Windows Xp
software disk)? If so, how... and if not is there any other solution than
swapping the printer for one compatible with Vista?

Hello,

Well since the printer isn't compatible with Vista, you are only left with a
couple of options -
1. Return the printer and get another one that works with vista (I recommend
this option if this is possible.. seems to be the only way if you want to be
able to print without waiting)
2. Dual boot Vista and XP
3. Wait for the manufacturer to release drivers for windows vista.. if they
do plan to release drivers for windows vista. Some manufactures don't plan
on releasing drivers for some of their products so you will have to check on
their website.

Apart from that there isn't much you can do when it comes to hardware and
drivers. Drivers have to be designed for Windows Vista and unfortunately it
isn't possible to use older drivers to do the job.. at least right now.
