Wireless Laptop running XP Home. I installed SP2 and got a lot of odd
things happening and didnt like its "helping" me by blocking D/L s of JPGs
on NGs and causing online games to drop so I deleted SP2 thru Control panel
add/delete. Everything seemed to go well but on restart , shortly after I
got:
"SPOOLER SUBSYSTEM APP has encountered a problem and needs to close""
?Report to Microsoft etc?" Send (yes)
I get this alert about 3 times everytime I START.
I have recently setup a wireless "B" router to connect this Laptop to a
hardwired HP Pavilion PC running Win 98SE.
In Network places, theHP Pavilion is there and on my HP "network places' my
printer connected to it but w/o Print Spooler, I can't try and get my
network setup on the Laptop to connect to the Network/HP/Printer.
I asked this "Q" last week and the advice was to see a MS help page..which
said the "Fix" for this was to INSTALL SP2. Ha Ha
I dont WANT SP2 installed, this is where this started. Any way to get this
back to where the print spooler (where is that program kept anyway?) was
working normally/originally?
My print spooler will not work either. I have tried to set it to automatic,
but keeps "kicking off". Any help would be appreciated.
