Print Spooler Issue

Hi, I hope you can help me with this.

I hacve a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP 4 as a print server, with no other
applications except for Terminal Services.

It has all the updates from the Microsoft Web Site

This week, the print spooler fails unexpctedly, reporting in the Event
Viewer this Error message:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7031
Description: The Print Spooler service terminated unexpectedly

I´ve read all the documentation about this Error and it is related to a
Citrix Metaframe dll, and he suggested resolution is to apply the hotfix
XE103W2K3034 , but as the Server doesnt has installed Citrix it doesnt work.

Does anybody knows how to solve this isuue?

Thank you very much

This is almost always caused by a bad print driver. That said, it can be sometimes difficult to isolate and get rid of.

As a start, try deleting all the printers from control panel and reinstalling them one at a time with fresh drivers. Use the
MS-supplied drivers if you can. I see this problem often with the network print drivers supplied for multifunction copiers, so if
you have one of those, it is a good one to try to work on first.

[You should not be fiddling with Citrix Metaframe support or updates of any sort if you are not using Citrix -- that is it's own,
very unique universe.]
