Print Layout View

When I open Word 2000 in Print Layout View it opens with a grid in the background. If I go to Format, Background and select No Fill it removes the grid, but it changes it to Web Layout View. I like the Print Layout View with the rulers on the top and side of the page. How can I remove this grid so that when Word opens in print layout view the default is a blank page. The grid doesn't print, but when you are typing on the page it is very annoying.

If your Drawing toolbar is not visible, display it by clicking on View |
Toolbars | Drawing. On the Drawing toolbar, click on Draw | Grid |
uncheck the "Display gridlines on screen" box.

Right-click the toolbar area and click on the Drawing Toolbar to turn it on.
Click the "Draw" icon on that toolbar and select "Grid...". Uncheck the
"Display Grid on screen" option.
