Background Texture Not Displayed in Print Layout View

This might sound trivial, but it's important to me.

I created a template named Menu.dot from the Normal.dot file. In the
Menu.dot I set the Background Texture to Parchment and saved the template.
When I re-open the template, I see the Background Texture in the Print Layout
View. No problem there.

However, when I create a new document from the Menu.dot template the
Background Texture is not displayed in the Print Layout View. I see the
Parchment texture when I switch to the Web Layout View, but the Print Layout
View only shows a white background.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a work around? Am I
doing something wrong?

Backgrounds are for Web pages only, so they display only in Web Layout view.
Are you sure you're seeing the background in Print Layout view in the
template? Ordinarily Word switches to Web Layout view when you insert a
background.
