Prevx

It looks as if the Microsoft Spyware program conflicts with
Prevx, once I suspended Prevx everything went great.
Antispyware found stuff that both AdAware and Spybot Search
and Destroy had missed.

I'm pleased that I installed it before I read the piece
about "never loading beta versions".

Say more about Prevx--whats the version, and can you give a URL for the
maker?

I always get this confused with Pivx, I think, which is a different critter.

What were the symptoms of the conflict, before you suspended Prevx?

Yes, very suspicious near-miss on name, since both products work on the
same issues.

Prevx, in its default configuration, complains about every installation
and objects to reads on a lot of sensitive objects, exactly the objects
that MSAS wants to examine for spyware. But if you patiently click OK,
it will let things proceed.

Too chatty for me, so I eventually tanked it. Pivx seems to concentrate
more on the IE issues, which is where most of the important
vulnerabilities are.
