Preview pane and bold type messages

In Outlook 2003 when I had the preview pane visible, any new mesages would
remain bold unless I actually opened them ie. not just preview them with the
preview pane.
In Outlook 2007 this seems to have changed - when I preview it changes the
bold to normal.

Id' like this to behave like it did on OL2003. Can it do this?

tools, options, other tab... reading pane button. change the mark as read
options.
 
I believe you are referring to unread (bold) and read (unbold). Check your settings under Tools - Options - Other - Reading Pane. Remove the check next to "Mark item as read when selection changes"
