preventing FTP

Somehow we have managed to stop FTP downloading on our network. We are using
win 2000 sp 2.

anyone know how we did this?

You may have allied a GPO which blocks Downloads via
interent security policies in IE

Insufficient information.

If you're having a problem, you might check your firewall logs.
Posting the exact word for word error message and searching
www.google.com or www.google.com/advanced_group_search might also be
useful. I'm not even sure where you're trying to FTP to or from
exactly.
