Preventing Automatic Search Function when opening Windows Explorer

I have Windows XP Pro v2002 and IE 7. I am not sure when this problem first
started happening, but whenever I open up Windows Explorer, the Search
Function appears (Search Function within the Address Bar). I used to be able
to open up a folder on my desktop or wherever, and files within the folder
would display. I've tried going into Tools, then Folder Options, and also
changing options within View, but nothing seems to work. It's driving me
crazy! If someone could please help, it would be much appreciated.

Here are a couple of options you can try.

Click Start | Run and type or copy/paste this command:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

This problem happens when you change the Drive or File Folders entries
through the File Types dialog box.
