"Pressed" Interactive button

I expected the "pressed" color I chose for my interactive buttons to stay the "pressed" color while the user was viewing the associated page---but the buttons revert to the "original" color unless the mouse button is actually pushed down on the button. Is there a way for the "pressed" color to remain until another botton is chosen?

No
Pressed means currently pressed (like selected),
not previously pressed (like visited)
