Press shift/+tab network boot options?

When XP boots up, the first thing I see is a black screen with an
option that says Press shift+tab to display network boot options. It
sets a second or two then boots. Where does this originate from and
can it be eliminated?

Disable the network boot option from within your BIOS, has nothing to do
with Windows XP.

How to enter the BIOS, refer to your computer manual or manufacturer support
site.
