Presentations Controlled by Scheduler

When I use Task Scheduler (WIN 98 or 2000) to call
powerpoint file saved as xxx.pps (full screen slide show),
the PPT program is displayed in the composition mode.
Executing Windows "Run" command with exact same parameters
as used in Scheduler gives full screen display with all
slide show features previously selected. Appreciate any
expertise for a solution.
