prefix on internet address

I believe I may have inadvertently downloaded some sort of
virus or software because every time I type a web address
into my address tool bar, it appears within the drop down
box with a prefix before the typed-in address. There are a
couple different prefixes that appear and if I enter just
the prefix into the address bar, it comes up as a foreign
porn site. I have tried spy software to detect and get rid
of it, but that has not helped. Any other methods I may be
able to use to get rid of it?
