Hi,

I have a home network using two PC's, one running Windows 98 SE and one
running Windows XP Home via an Origo ASR-8400 modem/router.

The XP machine is set to start with MS Works 4.5 running

All runs smoothly if the Win98 machine starts first even if the XP
machine is not switched on, but if the starts first or starts with the
Win98 machine off it takes ages to start and the cursor keeps turning to
the hour glass every 5 seconds as if it is looking for something.

If I have Wordpad or Notepad to run the problem is not there.

I have disabled Master Browser service but it made no difference.

I would like to keep Works running as my wife is used to that program,

any ideas?

I asked in the Works newsgroup and it was suggested I ask in a Windows
group

Thanks

4.5? Wow, you are several versions behind. Go here, and see if this fits
the bill:
