Before buying expensive pc parts, i have decided just to build a low end system, a really low end, just to practice and get used to it all, outlined below i have done a spec sheet, and would appreciate it if you could all give me some feedback:

Processor : Intel Celeron D 2.4ghz : £48.02
HDD: 40GB Maxtor Diamondmax Plus : £29.32
Mobo: MSI blah blah: £30.99
PSU: Ebuyer 500W: £12.92
RAM: Corsair 256mb: £18.57
DVDRW : LG blah: £28.19

I will source a case from somewhere else, could someone also tell me in englisg what the motherboard can handle, i.e. how many hdd's or memory modules, which i think is 2x1gb

Just wanted to check that it is all compatible?

thanks

If he is using it for just word processing etc and internet then its a good idea. That is what i will be doing soon, my pc is fine but the rest of the family use the other pc which is very low spec (1.4ghz intel celeron, 20gb, 256mb) and is only use for office stuff and browsing the net and i am looking into buying a cheap pc that is better than that but that will do a good job. Not sure of it is possible on a £200 budget?

Don't know ... probably.

This is better, and compatable ... but I would suggest getting 512MB min

S64 2600+ (s754-800FSB) +HS&Fan ... £54
MSI K8MM-V s754 int snd/vga/lan usb2, AGP ... £40
Maxtor 80 Gb 7200 (133) ... £35
256MB DDR 400 (PC3200) Samsung ... £17
LiteOn 16X +R/-R & D-L Beige oem with Nero ... £35
480W Silent Gold ATX PSU with S.ATA ... £22

Will make a good 'cruncher' too

:D
