Pr, Pb/AV Output, Y -- what are they ??

Hi :)

I've just bought a new Gigabyte 6600GT card. There's a TV-Out breakout box
that has 4 female connections on it.

One's a 4-pin S-Video output. Fine, I know what that is.

However, there are 3 others - female connections just like ordinary red,
white, yellow video/audio outputs, except they're red blue and green, marked
'Pr', 'Pv/AV Output', and 'Y'.

What are they?

I want to connect the card to a UK PAL TV. Are these 3 connections
alternatives to S-Video; do I need to connect them to anything? Will the
S-Video output carry audio as well or is that done by one of these mystery
sockets?

Thanks :)

Thanks Ted

Eventually found a pic of the box - its for HDTV composite connections.

So ....

Does that mean I have to get either:

1. Something to convert the signal from the red green & blue composite
connection to just the yellow video in connection, OR
2. Something to convert the signal from S-Video connection to just the
yellow video in connection

but not both?

And presumably (unless I want sound on the PC and not the TV) get the sound
into the red & white connectors on the TV some other way?

Thanks

The AV/y output is dual function. If you configure the card for composite
output it is the video output. If you configure for HDTV component output
then all three make up the video signal. It has to match what you are
plugged into....
