PPTViewer

When publishing a slide show presentation using the PPTViewer process in both
the 'burn to cd' and 'save to folder', the audio timing of inserted songs and
the picture style on all the slides will get distorted. A song will overlap
on the trailing audio and the drop shadow style changes to a bevel design.
The audio & picture displays operate correctly when using PowerPoint but not
when I use the PPT Viewer.

Any Suggestions?

Hi Larry,

The solution depends on the type of presentation and the distribution
control that you have. Disk access times are very different than CD access
times, this is the major contributing factor to the problem. The root of
the problem lies with PowerPoint's syncing: it doesn't.

PowerPoint, when it runs into a sound file to be played, hands it off to the
operating system; that's it. There are no additional sync points other
than, "start it when you can."

So, to combat this, you can allow a second or two at the end of each sound
file before the next is called to avoid overlay, or, if timing is really
critical, change to a movie or video format like Windows Movie Maker
(probably already on your computer). Video files have much better
synchronization. Unfortunately, there is no easy transfer method between
them. You will need to rebuild the presentation as a movie.
