After my hard drive crashed, I had to re-install all my software. I had
several PowerPoint presentation containing both mpg videos and mp3 audio
files. When I try to run the presentation the audio files will not play. If
I double click on the sound icon or run the slide show the presentation,
there is no sound. The audio files are in the same folder as the PPT file.

On videos, when I double click on video box, I get sound but no picture.
When I run the slide show, there is no sound or video.

I am at a loss as to what to do. Anyone have any suggestions?

I fotgot to indicate that I am using PowerPoint 2003.

Did you lose any codecs that you haven't installed again?

I'm not sure. I'v reinstalled the audio drivers. Any suggestions on how to
determine which codecs might need to be re-installed?

I think it may depend on the source of the video but many of them need divx
and/or xvid so you could try starting with those.
