ppt outoplay problem in WinXP

I have a "compatibility mode" ppt presentation disc with the play.bat file
and ppt viewer. When I load the disc on my Vista machine, the ppt show
begins automatically.

On my WinXP machines this is not the case. I have gone to
"mycomputer/removable data/properties/autoplay" but there is no option there
to load and play ppt viewer (this option does show on the Vista machine). If
I choose the Win med player, then the program shows the first video file
instead of the first slide.

How can I get WinXP to auto play my ppt show without having to double click
on play.bat?

Thanks,

Vic

What you need on your cd is an autorun.inf file that has the following in
it:

[autorun]
open=pptview32.exe /L "playlist.txt"

Either use a "playlist.txt" text file if you have more thatn one
prewsentation or the name or your presentation "yourpresentation.ppt"

Thanks, Michael, but here is my puzzle.

I have an autorun file just as you list it, except that it has pptview.exe
without the 32 and, of course, there is a pptview.exe file as well (again
withouth the 32) the "playlist.txt" file has the name of the ppt show.

Since the CD autostarts onVista, does this mean that "32" version is
required for WinXP? If so, how do I get it to work on both WinXP and Vista?

Thanks again,

Vic
