PPT 2007 Presentation Created in XP Pro Does Not Run Properly With Vista Business.

Hi:

I created a PPT presntation using PPT 2007 SP2 on a desktop computer running
on XP Pro. The presentation runs perfectly using PPT 2007 on that computer.

However, when I ran the presentation file using PPT 2007 SP2 on my laptop
that runs on Vista Business, the screen transitions were very slow and sound
files would play well before the screen had changed.

The laptop has a much higher screen resolution. So I reduced it to 1024x768
on the computer and changed it in the PowerPoint Show Setup as well. But
that didn't work either.

The good news is that I can run the file properly on my laptop using the MS
2007 PPT Viewer. The bad news is that I can't use the "Pen" feature (writing
on a slide during a presentation) because the Viewer does not have that
function.

I did insert slides from other PPT files that were in .PPT format, and I
retained their original backgrounds and formatting.

Why do I have a problem running the presentation on my laptop and not my
desktop? Is there a fix for this?

Regards,

J

Hi

I take it you are running the presentation from the laptop hard drive?

Does the laptop have a default printer driver set up. Sounds crazy but the
lack of one (or an incompatible one) can cause a load of strange problems.

In Slide Show Set Up show is "Use Hardware Graphics Acceleration" ticked.
You might find things work better with it off.

If for some strange reason you have to use the viewer you might want to look
at Zoomit. It's free and has a write on screen function which is a lot better
than the pen IMHO and it should work with the viewer

Hi John:

Many thanks for your quick reply and your suggestions.

One of them worked, and now I got my pen function back.

I unticked "Use Hardware Graphics Acceleration" and the presentation worked
like a charm.

I don't know why, but it did.

Thanks again.
