PPT 2007: constrain lines freeform tool

We used to be able to constrain a line in PPT 2003 to 90 and 45-degrees using
the shift key while using the freeform tool. Now in PPT 2007 that feature
seems to be missing and it's very difficult to make straight lines with the
freeform tool. Am I missing something?
