PowerPoint drawing tools

Greetings Microsoft software engineers:

The PowerPoint drawing tools have been great for a number of years, and I
regularly use them to create line drawings for technical presentations.

Now in Office 2007, the Snap To Grid feature for the Freeform line tool does
not work! Snap to grid is one of the most useful features for technical
drawing, and I ask to please have it enabled for the Freeform tool again!

It also seems more difficult to get a line to be perfectly horizontal or
vertical. Holding down the shift key while dragging a new line should
constrain the possible angles available.

One Snap to Grid feature that I would like also is to have snap enabled when
I choose "Edit Points" on a Freeform line object.

Thanks!!!!!

To add to that, the grid itself is incorrect. On some settings, nothing will
actually snap to grid.
This is a huge issue for me as well, and is currently preventing my
department from consisdering moving to 2007.
I discussed this issue with some microsoft powerpoint programmers at
PPTLIVE2007.

Any update on this?

I had similar problem, converted to 2007 and found this big problem. I
make tech. drawings and without snap to grid freeform is a mess.

Looking at Google I see many people have this problem but no solution.

Unfortunately, PPT 2007 Freeform tools don't snap to grid here, nor do they
respond to Shift, even with SP2 for Office 2007 applied. They kind of snap
to the guides, but it's not as strongly as I'd like, so I can't tell if
they're actually snapping to guides or not. I don't think they are.

PPT 2010 Freeform tools respond to Shift, but they don't seem to snap to
grid for me. Snapping to guides is the same as in 2007 -- I can't tell if
it's actually snapping or not. Again, I don't think they are. Hoping another
2010 beta tester can confirm for us.

Thank you Echo S for your reply.

With huge number of users and MS policy of fixing issues I am perplexed.

I have a dumb question: has MS ever responded to this issue? On their
website I see that fix other issues with updates, I've never seen any
response.

Second dumb Q: How do you contact MS about issue like this? I have not
found way.

Thanks again

It's not a dumb question at all, Andrew. I can tell you they're aware of
this issue, because I know I've talked to some of the PPT program managers
about it. Whether it will be fixed or not is another question, one I don't
know the answer to. Sorry, wish I had better information for you.

As for how to contact MS, I think posting here is your best bet.
