PPT 2003 Pro freezes on "Running Virus Scan..."

Trying to view a slide show for a class I have, so I tried opening it up in
the web browser, but I just got a gray screen in the frame, so I tried
downloading it and running it from my desktop, but PPT completely freezes up.
When I look down in the left hand corner, it says "Running virus scan...".
I scanned the file using my anti-virus but it didn't find anything. Any
suggestions?

Jerry,

If you trust the file and where it cames from (and you've manually scanned
it), then try temporarily disabling your av auto protection. Then try and
open the file

what happens?

TAJ,
Thanks for responding quickly. I tried disabling all antivirus but still to
no avail. I did a couple more minutes of screwing around, and I found that
even if I make a slide show locally, I still cannot open it, it still goes
through the same behavior. I've also tried starting it in Safe Mode, not
sure if that does anything, but it still didn't work.

Thanks,
Jerry

Does this file works on other machines? If the file isn't too big and if it
isn't anything confidential, please send me a copy to
pptheaven[at]gmail[dot]com. Thanks.
