pps won't open from Web link

We're trying to establish a link on a Web site to a PPS
file and keep getting a pop up stating:

PowerPoint can't read C:...Filename.pps.

When we click 'help' it indicates that the file isn't
being recognized as PowerPoint.

Any advice? The pres was created in PPT 2003 is a 2.0MB
file size.

Have you tried putting the pps file on the same server that the web site is
located?
