PPC2002.xml Emulator won't start

I search on google for ppc2002.xml and there are like 10 different articles
where no one responded, but is the exact problem I'm having. ie:

Emulator won't start and the error says "Failed to open XML parser COM
object.file:C:\Windows CE
Tools\wce300\Pocket PC 2002\emulation\ppc2002.xml" I have tried
reinstalling but to no avail.

This is my exact problem/question as well. No one ever seemed to get an
answer but I will try to give it a shot.

How are you trying to start the Emulator? If you are doing so from
VS.NET2003, VS.NET2003 has its own Emulator for PPC2002 but the path
mentioned in your original post was probably installed by eVC or some
PocketPC/WinCE SDK.

from my computer

and the file is there......

Has anybody figured out the solution for this? The error message
"Failed to open XML parser COM object. File: .... "

I have a customer testing an application demo at their location, using the
PPC 2003 emulator
at their site (not enough iPAQ's to go around yet). The emulators are set
up by installing eVC4SP2 and the PPC 2003 SDK. Works fine on some machines,
but not on others. The sys admin notes that the desktops where it fails
don't have FrontPage installed... A missing MSXML parser maybe??

Google shows this question has been asked a number of times, but I didn't
see it answered anywhere

I suppose you can start with checking the version of the xml parser on the
machines where it works and where it doesn't

I have the same problem, like Ray said, and checked out the site you
recommended. After that, I installed MSXML 4 but the problem is still there.

Any clues?

When you checked you XML parser version with a sniffer, what was reported to
be installed?

The site (very nice one, by the way) said that I was missing MSXML 4.
Ok, then I thought: "Great! Maybe this will fix the problem". I downloaded
from Microsoft website and installed it and... well... the problem is still
there. :-(

What I just can not understand is that another machine here works
perfectly with it. Same VS.NET 2003 Architect original CDs, same computer
configuration (Win XP Corporation + SP1)...

Any other clues?
