Define functions:
i(u) = 1 + u works ok.
u(i)= 1+ i doesn't ??
Do I just have a corrupted copy ?

It is well known that the Windows Calculator has always been
faulty. Get one of the hundreds of free replacements.

Would you care to give one or two examples?
Windows Calculator is NOT the subject of discussion.

specific, you're a mathematician.

supported" AFAICR.

So it appears it's an old-sh and/or very rare problem, or I was
just talking out of my ass, whichever you prefer ;-)
OTOH the old Pentium bug was also "almost never" to be
encountered in RL.
Season's Greetings.

Mhm. The first link you mention refers to Windows 3, which
was retired about 20 years ago. The second link is an
single and unconformed report by the owner of a Vista
machine that pressing (=) will crash his machine. This is
not quite what I expected when you wrote "It is *well
known* that the Windows Calculator has *always* been
faulty". The words "antique" and "exotic/unconfirmed" come
to my mind.
