Does anyone know of a good DIY recipe for general cleaning of the caps, the wiper, and around the print heads, on the Ricoh Pro L4160? It uses latex ink. I tried the water/soap/alcohol but it just didn't seem to work as well as the expensive solution we buy from Ricoh.

What type of Alcohol?
Was it IPA? (isopropyl alcohol)

If it didn't shift using IPA then no idea cos that stuff cleans everything
Only other chem I would suggest is TIM clean the IPA to remove residue

Yeah, 70% IPA and blue dawn soap. I added a little more dawn, and while it takes a ton of solution and swabs to clean, the print quality has been great! More time, but less money I guess.

I've used ether alcohol in the past for solvent printers and it works pretty good. Haven't tried on this crappy Ricoh thing they call a printer though. Slowest, backwards machine I've ever used. One of my secrets is using make-up wedges the you can get a box of 1000 for $30. They work great and are a lot cheaper than the expensive swabs they rip us off for.
