Powerpoint Viewer Problems

I created a Presentation using Powerpoint 2003.
It's a photo album with a text box on each slide and animated text on
the first and last slides.
I package to a folder and then burn the folder's contents to a CD-RW.
When I run it, it auto-runs but I'm presented with a black screen and
animated text in text boxes on the first slide are not showing.
I can right-click and select Next slide and it proceeds to the next
slide. Slide transitions work OK (fade in and out).
The photo appears but the text box does not show on that or any
subsequent slides. Furthermore, the presentation should proceed from
slide to slide automatically. It does when viewed from the hard drive
but not from the CD.

(Yes, I am the same person that posted 'Package for CD: Doesn't show
text boxes'.
I looked everywhere for an alternative to PowerPoint but couldn't find
one so I've re-designed my presentation and it now is 42MB in size.)

I dont actually think size is your problem but 42 mb is still way too big.
Did you compress the pictures using the tool in the picture toolbar (to web /
screen) A 60 slide show should be about 7 Mb if they're jpegs!

This is really strange. I'd not expect a 42MB file to have problems like
this running from CD.

What kind of animation do you have set for the textboxes?

Since it's not transitioning automatically, try this just as a test --
change the transitions from fade to dissolve. Dissolve is ugly, but it's
easier on the system, and it will be a good test to see if that lets things
proceed as they should.

I appear now to have sorted the problem.
It appears that the presentation was corrupted in some way.
I deleted it and rebuilt it from scratch and it now works fine.
Thanks
