Powerpoint viewer 2007

Been having a problem with PowerPoint not playing sound on pps files. It was
fine until last September. If I use openoffice I have no problem but prefer
PowerPoint. I upgraded to office 2003 thinking that would take care of the
problem but it did not. I tried PowerPoint viewer 2007. It downloads just
find and installs just fine, but when I try to open it I get the message
that it needs: xp, vista, 2000 or server 2003 to run. I have windows XP
home edition w/sp2. NO I NOT install SP# did that on my last PC and had
nothing but problems, that's why I went out and purchased a new PC. Why
doesn't ppv 2007 not recognize that I have windows XP when I do...

Again, I have no problems with using "OpenOffice to view or play PPS files"

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Thank Michael: I have done that already, but will remove the version I have

Thanks

I downloaded the compatibility patch for PPV 2007 and still it does not
recognize that I have windowxp. Like I said, downloads fine and installs
fine but when I got to open it I get the error message that it need either:
Vista, windows2000,server 2003 or XP and I'm running XP SP2. Kinda strange
!

That's what I was thinking and I won't go that route.

Thanks for taking the time to get back.
