Hi, I hope somebody will be able to help me. I can't get Microsoft Office
PowerPoint Viewer 2007 to run with vista. Every time I tried to open a PPS
file which I get through email, I get a error message that says "is not a
valid win32 application" I have talk to Microsoft and they told me every time
I get a PPS file I have to this. save a PowerPoint Presentation in PPS
format, you just need to click on "Microsoft Office" Button -> point to
"Save" -> "PowerPoint Show". Does anybody knows a easier way? I know in XP
all you need to do click a PPS file and it opens up on it own. I am running
Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Home Basic Edition if that makes any
differences. If anybody can help me I would be really appreciate it.

Thank you,
Claudia

You might just need to fix your file associations for PPS files.

Ohhhh. I didn't realize this was an email issue. You mention hitting the
Office button and using Save As PPS.

So where does the email come in?

You also said that in [Windows] XP, you can double-click a file and open it.
If you're saving the file from your email program (Thunderbird, yes?) to
your harddrive and then double-clicking it, but you're getting the "not a
valid win32 app" error, then I'd try the file association fix, yes.

Also, this error can sometimes be caused by an incomplete installation. I'd
re-download and install the PPT 2007 Viewer.

Oh, also, what does the system say ""is not a valid win32 application"?

For example, you might see "EXCEL.EXE is not a valid Win32 application." But
there should be something before the word "is" in that error message.
