Powerpoint turns off screensaver

L

Linus Lund

Hi,
I'm trying to inforce an autologut function via the winexit screensaver.
It works except when a user starts a powerpoint presentation, then all
screensavers are turned off. Microsoft has this problem listed in KB
article 318449
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318449), but
their solution (download WinXP SP1) does not solve the problem.

I run Windows XP, SP1a, Office 2003. I have set all screensaver settings
via the group policy editor.

Does anybody have an idea what do to?

Best regards
Linus Lund

I am guessing that you are a system admin who wants to force log out on all
users and can't on those who have active slide show presentations running.

I would be rather upset with the sysadmin, if I was giving a presentation on
a screen, and just because the topic we were discussing ran a little long,
it logged out my terminal in front of a hundred clients.

But that is just me. Perhaps your users won't mind as much. Here is a work
around:

If you find a fix for this can you let me know. I have

When I open a PP slide show and then close it my screen
saver is set back to "none". If you find a fix for Xp it
may work on 2k also. My email is (e-mail address removed)0m
(of course the 0 will be o to prevent spam) Thanks, and
if I here of a fix I will let you know.
