Here is the situation....I have an exisiting powerpoint document and an
existing template for Word. I need to get the content from the powerpoint
slides to the existing word document. The send to word doesn't work, because
I don't want notes I want the content to look the same as it does in
powerpoint, but with the additions of my word template....HELP!

So don't choose the option to include notes. Just use the blank lines. Then
copy the slide thumbnails from the sent file to the file based on your
template.

However, if you just want the text but you want it formatted as specified by
your template, then you've got a lot of copy/paste and reformatting work
ahead of you. PPT and Word simply aren't designed to work that way.
Unfortunately. You might be able to shave some time by Send to Word and
choosing "outline." That will get you the text from the slide placeholders,
at least.

Echo,
When I try to do just an outline...nothing happens. It just goes to a blank
word document. Is that what it is suppose to do and then I copy the thumb
nails seperately? And if so do I just use CNTL C and CNTL V to paste? Or is
there a better way? Will it copy my clip art as well?

The reason you're getting a blank file, then, is because the creator of the
file didn't use placeholders in PPT. Placeholders are the "click to add
text" boxes.

So I guess you're stuck with either using one of the thumbnail options in
the Send to -- which gives you images of the slides (so that would include
your clipart) -- or you must copy/paste the text from PPT to Word manually.

If you just need the text from the PPT slides, check out this entry from the
PPT FAQ. The second and third macros will do what you need:
http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00274.htm

If you don't know how to use a macro with PPT, there is a link at the bottom
of the FAQ entry that will help you understand how to add and use the macro.
