I have packaged a presentation to a CD with three songs. Using Powerpoint
2003. The first song does not play but the other two do on one specific
computer. On another computer they all play. Could you tell me what the
problem might be with the first computer?
Thanks

Do straight sound files play on that computer? If not, you need to correct
that.

What sort of sound files are they? (WAV, MP3, etc.) And where did they come
from?

Sound files played by simply clicking on them rather than playing them as a
function of PowerPoint. Example: You can enter a .wav file for sound on a
slide in Powerpoint and play it during the presentation. But you can also
simply double click the .wav file and whatever program your computer has had
set up to play .wav files will play it. It might be MS Media Player. On my
computer WinAmp would play it. On other computers they might have
MusicMatch set up to play .wav files.

I just wanted the OP to make sure the .wav file would play by itself before
evaluating why it wouldn't play as part of PPT.

These are WAV files. I downloaded them from MusicMatch. I inseterted the
song to play on the slide transaction screen of the first slide under other
in "sound".
Thanks!

Oops, MusicMatch uses DRM (Digital Rights Management) to stop
re-distribution of their copyrighted content. As PowerPoint is a
distribution engine, it won't allow the use of these files.

OK - I wonder why they will play on my friends computer. Is it because he
has the same system as I do?
Thanks!

Play on the computer, or play on the computer in PowerPoint?
